PCTS Chairperson Rosario Osobase joined a strategic panel session tackling a critical theme: The Impact of the NOGICD Act on the Ease of Doing Business and Cost Competitiveness in Nigeria’s Energy Sector. Since its enactment, the NOGICD Act has been instrumental in driving in-country value, skills development, and increased indigenous participation. With new Presidential Directives now in effect, the panel explored whether these interventions are meaningfully enhancing local content implementation, improving operational efficiency, and attracting sustained investment. Rosario, alongside fellow industry leaders, assessed how the NOGICD Act has fostered investment by balancing operational flexibility with robust protection of local stakeholder interests. It has tackled deficiencies in capacity development and laid out strategic pathways for unlocking sustainable value. A key highlight was the presidential directive, positioned not to dilute but to enhance local content initiatives, alongside calls for deeper synergy between regulatory bodies and the NCDMB to ensure continued growth and global competitiveness in the industry.
